JULY 25: Good Music, Bad Advice.

Good Music, Bad Advice: Super Fun Variety presents the Bad Advice Column + Sweet Soubrette

On July 25, Super Fun Variety presents an interactive game-show-style experience in which NYC variety all-stars provide improvised, highly public, and extremely ill-advised answers to the audience’s deepest, most personal questions. One part Dear Abby, one part Savage Love, one part Ed Sullivan Show, what could we call it but The Bad Advice Column?

Featuring sensational solo performances by Doppelskope (inspired puppetry), Matthew Silver (wild-man performance art), and Mistress B (naughty balloon twisting), and a full set of lush cabaret rock by Sweet Soubrette (“one part circus performer, one part poet, third part rockstar”) in the Gershwin Hotel’s plush back room.

(SEEKING BAD ADVICE? Send us your problems, questions, quagmires, uncertainties on love, life, loss, laughter, sex, scandal, work, art, murder...no problem too complex, banal, or surreal. Questions will be kept anonymous, but answers will be presented live by a panel of circus performers and puppets. Email SuperFunVariety[at]gmail.com.)

July 25, 7:30 doors, 8-10 pm show. $10 cover.
The Gershwin Hotel, 7 E 27th Street, NYC

Good Music, Bad Advice:
Super Fun Variety presents the Bad Advice Column + Sweet Soubrette

Super Fun Variety presents cabaret rock band Sweet Soubrette alongside Doppelskope, Matthew Silver, and Mistress B – NYC vaudeville all-stars who will follow individual performances in a game-show style forum with you, the audience, for  entirely improvised, highly public, and extremely ill-advised answers to your deepest life's questions.... One part Dear Abby, one part Savage Love, one part Ed Sullivan Show, what could we call it but The Bad Advice Column?

Sweet Soubrette’s dark, witty song style "comes with a pinch of Regina Spektor quirk and a spoonful of old-timey burlesque" (Time Out New York), and the roving performance arts spectacle Super Fun Variety presents “an incredible array of talent ranging from the silly to the sublime” (Impose Magazine).
